I spent days researching tablet under $100. None had all the features I wanted (Android 4.0.3, HDMI out, dual cameras, able to play Netflix, decent battery life, 1 gb RAM, 8+ GBs memory). The PD10 did! I opted to pay $10 more for the GPS. After removing all the chinese apps, I began testing. I used unlock root to get root access, just because I like to tinker. Google play is installed and works great (though I had to use an app to change contry code to USA).
I felt icons and text were too large, so I used the LCD density app to increase the onscreen realestate.
It comes with Angry Brds and Fruit Ninja installed. Both play very smoothly.
Next was the all important Netflix test. Installed the latest app from Google Play and it played movies without a hickup. The rear speaker is a bit weak, but not terrible.
GPS got a lock faster than my Garmin Nuvi. Worked great with the pre-installed google maps.
Testing the front and back cameras indoors, they seem a little dark. Perhaps there are other settings to improve this, the standard Bright/Contrast didn't help much. Though it has a cool panorama feature that I wish my Canon had!
Battery life is decent. I get 4 to 5 hours of playing before needing a recharge. I keep the screen on the most dim setting as it is plenty bright. I tried a few battery saver apps that seem to help push the duration a little further. It only charges through the 2mm charging port (as most of these tablet do). The included charger cable is about 2.5ft long. Too short for me, so I ordered a USB to 2.0mm cable from ebay. I'll try various other methods of charging when that arrives, but I ordered a car charger also, just in case.
Now I'm having a blast testing new apps and games! To date, no other tablet has this many features for the money.
UPDATE
The cable I ordered from ebay (2mm to USB) made for some Nokia phones finally arrived. Much to my amazement the PD10 does not require 5V/2A to charge. I'm using a generic 5V/1A usb charger and in the past 5 minutes the battery has gone up 3%! This means that it will work with the usb car charger i just saw at the dollar store, yippie! The front USB ports on my computer don't have enough juice to charge it, but the battery is holding stable.
Another cool feature is that it fits Kindle Fire cases. At least it fits the $11 Swivel Kindle Fire case I bought for it here on Amazon. Kicked myself later though because they're only $7 on ebay :(
